As the heatwave continues, many of us are staying in and avoiding going outside. Those who do go to the seaside to cool off. Some try a higher altitude. My partner for instance is now in the Alps with his high school friends enjoying the cooler air. And this morning very early, Little One decided to walk her friend’s little doggy and climb up a small hill to feel the morning breeze! “How refreshing this is,” she mused. Doggy enjoyed it too! Before it got too warm, down they walked and into the comfort of their own home. And naturally, I wanted to paint about this because they look so cute together! And now how about another practice with Procreate?
Incidentally, this is a variation of Cat Under the Starry Sky, a digital gouache painting using Lisa Bardot’s Gouache Paintbox set. Lisa introduced us to the brushes and helped us get familiar with them through an on-line class during which we painted that Mary Blair inspired piece. After successfully completing it, I was keen on doing a daytime version by replacing the black cat with Little One and her dog! I used similar brushes from the class but also chose others in the set to experiment. The results came out rather well, I must say! Love the textures and the simplicity of the whole painting. Perfect for that early morning walk. And look how lively and cute it all looks too!
