I haven’t been blogging much lately since we’re spending a romantic break in Italy at the moment . Internet access hasn’t been great in the hotel which means little time to spend by my tablet but then again we are supposed to be enjoying our time together anyway! Also, I am focusing more on my other hobby, photography, during this trip so unfortunately have had no spare time to paint. Not to worry, sometimes we all need a little break from it all; recharge our batteries and clear our creative minds before returning home all refreshed with new inspiration and ideas!
Meanwhile I’d like to share a cute painting I made some weeks ago of me and my him looking forward to our holidays. We’re dressed up walking through a park full of pink and red leaves and plants, just strolling along and chilling. Between us we are holding a small teddy bear. He knows I love cute things, and he wants to make me happy. How sweet of him!
The Background
I began by spreading some pink and red acrylic inks using a brayer
Then tried out different methods of layering on top of it one afte another. Used Gelli printing as well as rubber stamping using acrylic ink again as well as Distress Oxide.
Painting Us Cute
Then I simply painted us using acrylic paints by Dylusions (clothes) as well as Jane Davenport’s (skin and hair) . So far so sweet!
Finishing Touches
After painting in the eyes with Molotow acrylic markers and some more paint, I dotted some pearls on my dress and buttons on his outfit with Nuvo Drops. And of course I didn’t forget our tiny little teddy bear! She’s been coloured in lemon yellow. And here it all is:
Writing about this made me realize how much I miss painting and getting creative! But then again, it’s always a good idea to take a small break now and again and do something else you’ve been putting off. For me, that’s travel and photography. I hope at least to be able to blog a bit more whilst on vacation though. With quite a lot to catch up on, I am excited to share all my kawaii work with you. So do watch this space!
