Still in Switzerland and two days ago, we had been in Jungfraujoch the highest standing point in Europe at approximately 3,400 meters! There, we came across a small group of Japanese Swiss Horn players traveling all the way from homeland to get photographed by this peak. How cool was that! Because I speak Japanese and offered to take pics of them, they were happy to have us photographed with the horns too! It turns out they were here to participate in a Swiss Horn tournament the next day. Pity we were unable to attend when they invited us, as it would have been wonderful to cheer them on.
To make up for this, how about a cute painting about a Swiss Horn? I was tempted to paint about this fascinating instrument anyway, imagining what it would be like if Little One were to play one! I’m sure she’d love to have a go especially after meeting those wonderful Japanese folks who would have offered to photograph her with it too. And so I grabbed my small Strathmore Visual Journal sketchbook and doodled away with my black marker before filling in the colors with my SAI Japanese Traditional Colors and wet brush. As expected, how cute did she turn out!
I wrote a little story about it too and added some cute doodles to make the piece more an art journal. And so pleased at how kawaii Little One looks that I will definitely include this image in my Procreate travel poster for Switzerland! Can’t wait to get started.
