Lots to catch up on with writing about my artwork! Not to worry, the good thing is that I am still actively staying creative. Just need to organize my time better and squeeze in a few moments to write about them! And I’m still busy developing my Procreate skills as well, thanks also to Lisa Bardot with her wonderful brushes and tutorials. One of the brushes I got into is her Watercolor Wonder set, and thanks to her easy-to-follow tutorials, I am really getting the hang of it. This particular lesson is on painting flowers. Not the best of my work mind you, but it was good practice! I just wanted to learn how to properly paint a flower with watercolor so I must say it’s not too bad for the first attempt.
What I love about Lisa’s tutorials is that she gets straight to the point but still explains the how’s and why’s. Having three subsets Watercolor Core (main color), Watercolor Glaze (for shading) and Watercolor Tools (miscellaneous stuff like blenders and pens) certainly came out handy so we know which brushes do what. Further to the painting, I took the liberty of spreading some Blooming Wash and Salty Texture in the background to give the painting more character as opposed to a blank background. Now we’re talking. After having so much fun in this lesson, I may like to repeat it and paint another one for further practice!
