What a strange week it has been! Whilst much of this spring was rather cold for the season with lots of rain, temperatures suddenly soared to the late-20’s and sunny everyday. Today daytime temperatures hit 30℃, and thank goodness I had no appointments! Just stayed and chilled all day although a bit of house chores. How peculiar it is to have a heatwave like this in as early as May. It’s definitely all the global warming. Although Little One is sad about all the effects of climate change, she tries not to complain. “A great excuse to wear something bright and pretty today”, she muses. And here she is out in the garden sharing her new outfit, a vivid and vivacious dress she made, all ready for the next outing once the temperature cools down a bit. And we love that dress. All hippy chic yet elegant and oh so retro 70’s!
And of course I had to paint about it! I chose to paint again on Procreate because I thought this story would give me a chance to practice a bit with collage. Her pretty dress of course! The pattern came from something I had found in stock photos some time ago and was a perfect match to the outfit. As for the brushes, I decided to try a different one from my usual Procreate Medium Airbrush and went for Jason’s Square Dry Inker which worked rather well. Rest of the textures like the leafy patterns on the ground were also from Jason’s brushes available in Creative Market. In future, I would like to have more practice with collages on Procreate, but for now, I just love how it all turned out! Simple this time. Meanwhile, don’t you think Little One looks so adorable in her new frock?
