Flower Doodles

A short story today about a quick ink painting I with some leftover ink.

These leftover inks include fluorescent acrylic inks and Ecoline inks in light colours which give the transparent appearance in the background. I randomly scribbled doodles on paper and drew little circles to form flower patterns. Then with a brush, I briskly added the magenta around the flowers. And wow!

Creating this impromptu painting was quite a cool experience. I felt so free and liberated with no hang ups about perfection. Ultimately, it turned out beautifully and in some ways looks a bit like a calligraphy with the single magenta brushstrokes. And quite a different style from what I normally paint. Always wonderful to do something out of the ordinary!
