From Tile to Textile

Following that Procreate workshop in Portugal with Lisa Bardot back in May, I still enjoy using her brushes. And I remember very well her lessons on designing Azuelos ceramic tiles with her Ceramic Glaze set. So much fun that was! And decided the other day to create more as I wanted to practice drawing flowers on them too. Maybe introduce some vivid colors? My first attempt

Looks pretty and colorful as it is already but imagine what it would all look like if I duplicate it like tiles on the wall! And how to do this? First set to “Snapping” (arrow icon) and the distance and velocity to Max and in Uniform. Then duplicate the layer so the copy appears on another corner. Merge the two layers together and duplicate in the same manner. Merge those two layers and duplicate again. Keep repeating that until you want to stop. And this is the result:

I quite like this and to be honest even more than as an individual tile! Besides tiles on the wall, this repeating patterns would also look beautiful as a piece of textile. Imagine wearing a pretty dress or blouse in this colorful pattern! Little One would certainly look adorable in one. Perhaps a thought in my upcoming painting…
