Three Colorful Fishes

After a bout of colder rainy weather, it’s back to this unbearable heatwave again in Europe! And what is more refreshing than cool-toned colors? Even better when we imagine, or even better look at, the sea and some marine life like these fishes painted digitally as if on ceramic tiles. This was my my first practice some months ago with Lisa Bardot’s Ceramic Glaze Procreate before leaving for my Portugal Art Retreat. In order to get more familiar with the brushes, I followed her tutorial in which we painted some fish! Enjoyed every moment of it. Look how cute they look with their expressive eyes and mouths!

Crackles in the background were later added, also available in the Ceramic Glaze set to give a more effect. As for the brushstrokes, though, I feel they could have been a bit more flowing and expressive. I was so busy following every step of the tutorial and making the fishes as whimsical as possible that I lost focus on technique. Not to worry, it was my first attempt so I won’t judge myself too harshly. Practice makes perfect! I’d be happy to repeat the class again once I have the time and see how I develop. Nevertheless, I think my fishes still turned out rather cute!
