Experimenting again with Procreate brushes! Frankentoon Crayon set is not new and has been used before but I wanted to explore it further. It comes with a selection of brushes and even some textured “paper” for more effect. Here I went for the 500g and firstly drew my little cat. It was actually intended to a “blueprint” for another painting (to be shared shortly) as I began sketching and designing it but decided why not play around with this new sketch using the crayon brushes?
A range of crayon brushes were experimented with including Wax Stick, Moist Wax, Grainy Sketch, Noisy Shader, etc. I was amazed by the many possibilities, and had no idea that the humble crayon could roll out such a wide variety! What I also love about crayons is that it certainly brings out the “happy childhood memories” vibe, most suited to kawaii illustrations like this. This set of brushes should definitely be used more often! And I love how this cute Kitty turned out.
