Love Ginger

I love all cats! But one that brings attention are the orange tabbies. They remind me of my childhood! When I was most probably kindergarten-age, I spotted a cute orange tabby on the street approaching me to play and pointed her to my mother. The rest is a blur as I don’t remember much but I do recall calling the cat “Ginger” and asking my mother when I would see Ginger again. Since then, all orange tabbies are immediately called “Ginger”!  What happy memories you never forget. And now painting about that love I have for ginger cats on Procreate!

This was also an opportunity to practice with Lisa Bardot‘s Painter’s Gouache brushes. During our art retreat in Portugal a few weeks ago, we learned to paint with them and were awed at what a perfect medium it was for illustrations both from the paint tubes and digitally on Procreate. We love how the strong and vivid colors pop out so well especially due to the matte and opaque finish, And now, look how adorable our characters turned out to be! I’ll definitely be creating more cuteness with gouache paints digitally and on paper too!
