Today is my boyfriend’s birthday! And as I do every year, I dedicated another kawaii painting to him. It has indeed been a busy few weeks, but I am promising myself to squeeze in a few hours a day to keep creative so I can relax a bit. Again, I decided to have a go with digital painting again with Procreate! Readers must be tired of seeing just digital artwork here but it’s good practice, especially for my upcoming trip to Portugal for the Procreate workshop. Well, I promise the next time I will try and come up with something else next year!
Main brush for this painting was Procreate’s own Medium Airbrush. Quite a few other brushes were also introduced including some glitter brushes from the AJ Gold Rush set, available on Creative Market. For the background, I made it a bit plain with some catchy green shades because I wanted to introduce a new skill I had recently learned from one of the on-line tutorials: Collages! Have you noticed them on the hearts, the flower center and his outfit? And here we have a cool and catchy yet sweet and cute illustration of us together celebrating his big day!
