Another Procreate piece! And Little One is back too! This time, though, this is not part of Lisa Bardot’s tutorial but something I created some weeks ago with a set of watercolor brushes created by another artist, Abbie Nurse. There are 92 of them! The packet is further accompanied by her wide selection of customized watercolor canvases, color palettes and template stamps. I am still trying to figure out the ropes and haven’t gotten around to watching her demo entirely as been focusing on Lisa’s tutorial to prepare for my Portugal workshop with her. As such, I had to guess which brushes in the set were suitable for this painting through trial and error, and I must say it turned out quite well! And now, look who we have here… It’s Little One enjoying herself in the Dutch tulip fields! How adorable is she?

That’s right, it’s tulip season here in the Netherlands. So excited is Little One that she even decided to don on her beautiful frock with a tulip print, how sweet! And what a wonderful opportunity to paint about this with all the pretty colors. Abbie’s customized watercolor canvas comes with a choice of different textures, out of which I went for Recycled Butcher paper to see what would happen, followed by a random selection of available brushes including washes, wet-on-wet, “old” brushes and botanicaliser. Her range of color palettes further includes lots of vibrant shades which I took advantage of. And those tulips are actually from one of her stamps! And now… I am very happy with the result despite having little knowledge about the brushes. Great warm up, though, as I plan to watch Abbie’s demo once I’m back from Portugal to discover all the hidden gems behind this amazing watercolor set. Meanwhile, we will definitely be seeing more of Little One soon!
