🐮 THE COWS ARE BACK! Our dream house has a backyard facing the neighboring farm bordered by a small brook. Over this brook lies a path along which march a herd of cows in a single file. And twice a day! They have been remaining in their barns during the winter but now that warmer weather is approaching, they're happy to be back! What an amazing and interesting spectacle that is, especially for someone who has grown up in a big city. So excited I get that I want to paint about it! 🐄

💗 HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! Unfortunately I was unable to make a painting for this special day this year. However I thought I’d share her a favorite oldie but goodie I made a couple of years ago depicting Mama and me as a little girl. Back in the days, she enjoyed sewing and created marching outfits for us. One of the most memorable was the yellow dress with dark yellow pockets! Isn’t that adorable? Happy Mother’s Day to all Mama’s of the world especially mine! Love and miss you loads, Mama R.I.P. 🙏

💗 GOUACHE GIRL. It is not often that I get to use gouache. After smudging some pink leftover gouache paint on my sketchbook I developed the blob into a cute painting of Little One! Love those solid vibrant colors...I should use this amazing medium more often!💕

🎀 HELLO KITTY REHOMED! My rather extensive Hello Kitty collection has been a bit of an issue as I’m running out of space! As much as I love all of my plushies, I don’t have much choice but to downsize 😢. But how? Luckily I made it in time for King’s Day here in the Netherlands last Tuesday. Apart from celebrating the King's birthday, we also set up market stalls and have a garage sale. What a great opportunity! So I wanted to paint about it... me and my boyfriend setting up shop in front of our house! 🧡

🌺 HIDDEN BLOSSOMS. Despite a bit of a delay and not quite as warm as were hoping, Spring seems to be here again! Trees are starting go green and flowers are starting to bloom. The Netherlands is known for the abundance of beautifully colorful flowers, and gardens are a stunning sight. So here is a vibrant painting starting from an old ghost print! 🌸

🌲 BARE TREES IN APRIL. Temperatures have been quite volatile lately, even snowing in early April! Two weekends ago, we went for a little stroll in the neighbourhood when it was about 6℃, noticing how the trees had no leaves yet and the flowers yet to bloom ❄️ . We are now starting to see some improvements but here is a painting made before it changed for the better 💕
