🌷ALMOST SPRING 🌼 After a few days couped up in the house with the cold/flu 😷 and anyhow crappy weather, yesterday was another day! Though still a bit chilly it was sunny and I figured a bit of fresh air and sun would do me good ☀️. Ventured outside for the first time in at least 3 days and went for a stroll for nearly an hour to discover the buds of Spring. 🌺. Armed with just my iPhone, I snapped quite a few pics of the flora and fauna and of course decided I was well enough to sketch something out of it!
I was somehow in the mood for using my soft pastels 🎨 as they have this earthy dusty finish, suitable for the landscape of dirt paths, misty water and rough uncut grass. Being high in pigments, they also render colour strongly.
The only thing I didn’t really like though was the stripy texture of the paper which meant I had to use a lot of pastels 😌 but I guess it helps the pigments to stay as opposed to using smoother paper. 👩🏻🎨 Besides layering and building up with various shades spreads out the usage of the pastels.
