👻 SWEET AND SPOOKY. Halloween soon! A great opportunity to go beyond my comfort zone. As oppposed to my customary vivid bright colors, dark shades of navy, greys, brown and black start emerging. Another challenge is orange, a color I tend to stay away from. Then trying to combine spooky and scary with sweet and kawaii in this painting. Here is Little One and her boyfriend dressed for Halloween and floating in the atmosphere of darkness! 🧡

📷 Smile, you're on camera! Today is the first lesson of Mindy Lacefield's Procreate classes on-line. Though I know some of the technical stuff already, there are others I only just discovered. Who would have thought about importing photos of old sketches into Procreate and working on them! This one is an old analog pencil dessin I made some years ago. Work in Progress of course, and looking forward to tomorrow's continuation! So far so fun 💕

👻 GHOSTLY TRIO. Time for some spooky artwork! Initially intended to be an experiment using my pastel-toned colored pencils, it ended up as a simple Halloween-themed sketch on black paper featuring a pumpkin, ghost and bunny-ghost! 🎃

🤎 EARTH TO HELLO KITTY! Little One loves collecting and playing with is Hello Kitty’s. Today she received in the post a pair of cushions featuring just the faces, and she's so chuffed! “But where should I put them?” she muses. She hopes they would look great on her little bed. I’m sure they will! And so I decided to sketch about it with some Conté sticks on grey paper. How sweet! 🎀

🐈 KITTY LAVENDER EYES. You may have noticed my fixation with lavender plants for the past month! First came the plants in our backyard, followed by our unplanned trip to he Provence region in France, famous for its lavender production. I just love the colour of lavender! And I also enjoy introducing my kawaii characters frolicking around the fields of this amazingly vivid violet eternity. Today our little cat is so overwhelmed by the scenery and aroma that her eyes have turned lavender! 💜

🇫🇷 DREAMING OF PROVENCE. During our travels, I made a quick watercolor painting on my little sketchbook! BF and I enjoying our time in Provence with the hills behind us watching the world go by. Although the season for lavender is long gone, we definitely want to return there next summer if possible, when the lavender fields are in bloom. As for now, we can just dream on... 💜
