Drawing Horses

I’m not an expert at horses nor ever rode one in my life but my boyfriend photographs for various horse events such as races and polo.  Whilst I dabble a bit on photography, I thought it might be an idea to start sketching and drawing as well!  So I may likely be out doing just that, now that the season for these events are underway.  As I gathered, though, horses are not at all easy to draw!  Practice makes perfect… I so hope!

BROWN BEAUTY   This sketch was done with pencils,  Cretacolor’s charcoals in Black and Sepia Dark and Koh-I-Noor’s charcoal in White Coal.

And here’s SNOWY WHITE Another practice drawing a horse! 🐎 This time less rigid-looking using black charcoal and white chalk. Added some of Cretacolor’s Dark Sepia charcoal for variation 🎨
