Must be a phase, but I am growing quite keen on watercolor digital art! Although already having tried out a number of Procreate brushes for this, I’ve been searching for something simplified and easy-to-follow. Enter Lisa Bardot‘s Watercolor Wonder brushes! I’m quite impressed with her two Gouache sets and hence took the plunge and gave watercolor a shot. What I love is that she gives a thorough explanation of her brushes in PDF and video versions, in addition to on-line classes to get familiar with them. And among the choices is painting a cactus !

Lisa’s Watercolor Wonder brushes comprises of three subsets: Watercolor Core (for the basic shapes), Watercolor Glaze (for shading) and Watercolor Tools (eraser, pens and texture). In addition, we get a choice of 5 different watercolor paper (rough, smooth, etc). During this brief 15-20 minute video, we had a good practice with the brushes to paint this kawaii cactus! Brushes used included Hard Edge Round and its Glaze counterpart. How cute did this turn out! Love those little pink flowers too, Now looking forward to the next class and getting even more familiar with Lisa’s amazing watercolor brushes!
