After more than a week’s holiday in France, we took off for Italy two days ago! An overnight stay in a BB Hotel in Turin followed by an early start in the morning to drive along the Dolomites mountains trail along tunnels and passes before arriving at our hotel on the other side of the Stelvio Pass. And what a wonderful hotel that was! My partner has previously stayed at Hotel Bella Vista a few months ago whilst I myself was in Japan and loved the place so much that he wanted me to share the experience too. And who can blame him? I was awed by the place: clean, friendly staff and classy without being snobby and over the top. And to be honest, I did enjoy staying in the apartment when we were in France, but it is also wonderful to go back to staying in a hotel again and not have to cook, clean and laundry whilst on vacation haha!
My wonderful partner booked us this huge room with a separate sitting room with a big sofa you can put your feet up with. And there is also a small balcony overlooking the beautiful mountains. We even came across some cows and donkeys in the scene! Unfortunately the weather hasn’t been that great today with heavy rains much of the day so the mountains were covered in clouds. Forecasted to improve the next few days we are here and thus hoping for a better view and chance for some hiking too! Luckily our hotel has a wellness spa so we spent the rest of the afternoon chilling in the saunas, both steam and dry. A few hours of winding down and settling ourselves in the hotel before dinner. And for a half-board hotel menu, I have to say the dinner was very impressive!
