Could That Be Her?

OMG that cat I was telling you about some time ago, I may have spotted her! Remember that sweet tuxedo cat who wandered into our neighborhood right by our garden a few months ago, warmed towards me, played together but was sadly never seen again? And I didn’t get to photograph her because I had left my phone in the house? I was devastated when she didn’t show up the next day! Was worried that something bad could have happened to her.

But during my walk a few days ago, there she was! In someone’s garden, presumably the owner’s, the farmer who sells homemade jam. We caught each other’s eyes, and sure enough she meowed, jumped over the fence and approached me! Long time no see, as I petted her and began chatting with her in Japanese. And the reason why my 6km walk was extended to at least 10 minutes! But it was worth the extra time…

Actually, I wonder if she’s the same cat though. One thing I noticed this time was that the white pattern on her face was slightly uneven and skews to the right but I can’t remember that for the world during our first encounter months ago because I was so besotted by her. Also, that owner’s house is at least 2km away from our place, and why would she have gone out of her way at that distance back then? And how did she manage to cross over the big road with cars driving at 80 km/h? Too dangerous! But then cats have a way of getting around and love meandering about don’t they? Who knows.

Even if she weren’t the cat I was on about, I hope the one from few months ago is safe too! Whomever she turns out to be, just making any cat feel loved makes me very happy. And this time, I made sure I captured some cute photos and videos from which of course, lead to pencil sketches that more accurately describes her. Another great way to practice drawing cats in different poses from what I am used to sketching. Next step is developing my ideas into my paintings and more drawings, how exciting that will be!
