Back again! I was over in the UK last week visiting friends and was so busy that I had no time to get creative, let alone write. Since returning home a few days ago, I’ve slowly been able to slip back into routine. So great to be back painting again! And as Halloween draws nearer, tomorrow in fact, I share here an abstract but cute digital painting I had prepared weeks ago as I envisioned I would have less chance of completing one nearer to the time. How clever was that!
This piece involved just a little doodle and play around with texture brushes and blend modes on Procreate. On a black background first came the Big Spidery Hatch texture brush followed by random doodles with Jason’s Dry Crayon. And then the silhouette of the cat! Duplicated that with two more of them and experimented with the blending modes, et voilà! Loving the ghost-like effects, like the kitty is being spooked. And here is an example how kawaii, eerie and abstract can work well together!
