Now some art journaling with a little play around with acrylic inks in my sketchbook! Color blocks here and bits of collage there. Stencilimg too and doodling away as I normally do. And now I realize how much I am missing the warmer months! The fact that I still stick to bright vivid colors and continue drawing flowers speaks volumes about how I’m feeling now.

“But autumn can be beautiful too”, my partner chimes in. Indeed. The warm tones of orange, yellow and red against a grey background can be quite stunning. I find it a bit static though. The liveliness of the pink and purple as well as emerald green and light blue appeals to me far more.

Nevertheless, I introduced a few autumn-themed red origami paper cut outs. How about a few craft-punched shapes of flowers and, for added cuteness, a teddy bear? Some of the empty spaces were also filled in with Antelope brown. Now we see a transition between summer and autumn!

Art supplies used: Started with a variety of acrylic inks by Sennelier and Daler and Rowney them added colored tissue collages with acrylic binder and scribbled a bit with white oil pastel. Stencilimg was done with Mint Green gouache and textures introduced with 3D liner and glitter glue.

As you may have noticed, I’ve been focusing more on painting characters lately. Switching over to some art journaling with intuitive abstract pieces like this was quite an enjoyable change which I need to do more often. And after painting this, saying goodbye to summer isn’t so depressing after all!
