A little play around with Procreate digital painting again! And each time I discover new stuff via networking on FB groups. Did you know that a feature called Drawing Guides exists on Procreate? I didn’t, even after more than 5 years of using this app! The guide allows you to accurately create drawings in 2D grids, isometric shapes, perspective and symmetry. How cool is that! Today I’m sharing you a simple but cute abstract drawing using the Perspective drawing guide.

First you determine where to place the vanishing point on your screen. The drawing guide then adds the straight lines for you according to which direction you place your stylus (Apple Pencil). Although the perspective lines did come out perfect, I realized my vanishing point was typically not centered vertically from the start. First time for everything! In the end, I created a corridor with a little black cat also standing off-center to balance the composition. Further makes the painting cuter too course! Practice makes perfect so will keep working on it and explore other possibilities with the Drawing Guides.
