Sharing here the fourth and final part of my Cute Quartet mini painting series! This set was created during Tracy Verdugo’s art retreat in Montelparo, Italy last week. As outlined in my first blog for the series, Rabbit in Strawberry Moon, we were to create four mini paintings by firstly dividing a huge piece of paper into four equal parts with masking tape. Then we had to come up with a four-lettered word (!), paint each letter on each square and develop four different mini paintings as a fun way to practice abstract painting techniques and experiment with various mediums.

The Letter “E”
And we see that each section in this quartet has its own story to tell. And here we have the final installment! On this hot day in the tropics, Little One has a wander around, visits a cute cave and decides to cool off further in the lake on the way home. “What a fun and interesting day it was,” she smiles “and now a splash in the water!” Whilst approaching it, she is excited about how wonderful it will all feel. Like a fan blowing fresh cool air. She’s imagining a pink fan spinning around to cool her down. And look! That cat who had earlier wandered off is back, and the rabbit from the moon has now appeared in the sun so she can cool down together with Little One!

And this concludes the Cute Quartet series. And what interesting stories do each tell! Did you know though that all these four mini paintings happened to come out as they did without me planning what to paint? All purely intuitive. As such all these stories were thought of only after the quartet was completed and as I began writing about each section. Interesting how I managed to piece a story together so spontaneously. I must have a vivid imagination! I would definitely like to do a similar series of mini paintings like this and see what fun stories I can come up with…
