As you gathered, Little One is a huge Hello Kitty fan. She collects everything connected to this cute “feline” character including plushies, figurines, decorations, accessories, stationery, household items and of course lots of clothing! And just today, she received in the post a present from a friend in Japan, a cute little blue dress with Hello Kitty’s face. It even came with a ribbon, the sort that Hello Kitty wears on her left ear! How sweet is that? And now, Little One is out and about all excited and wants to show you her new outfit, posing with a pail and spade. Those she got from that friend in Japan, knowing how much she loves gardening. What a wonderful friend! The apple on the pail is one of Hello Kitty’s “symbol” as she supposedly weighs three apples. And now, isn’t Little One looking very adorable? Naturally of course, I wanted to paint about it…

A great way to practice with colored pencils again, something I haven’t used in a while. Even better is that I also got to try out my new set of Faber Castell Polychromos purchased a few months ago but never got around to using yet. Following the initial sketch with a B2 graphite pencil on my Strathmore’s 9×12″ sketchbook for colored pencils, I started coloring away. And I love the Polychromos set! A bit pricey, but it is for a reason. As you can see, the colors came out rich and vibrant even with a light touch. Very high quality pencils, and added bonus is that it is highly lightfast so color will last for ages. As I work with these colored pencils more often, I ought to be able to assess them more. It is my first time, and so far a very good impression especially as they came with perfect Hello Kitty colors and made Little One look so beautiful!
