Unlike yesterday, the weather decided to cooperate and get sunny again. Temperatures a friendly 25°c so up and early we rose to drive along the stunning views of the Pyrenees! We reached Pic du Midi after an hour. And upon parking our car at the base of the mountain, out appeared a herd of alpacas! Who would’ve imagined. One of them was just hanging around the ticket office for the cable car… maybe he wanted to go up the mountain with us. So adorable they all were that I took a few photos of them and made a note to include them in my future artwork! Then we proceeded to the cable car with which we made the ascent till reaching 2,788 meters at the summit of Pic du Midi. And what a stunning view of the mountain range! Although the south side had a clear view, it was a pity the north size couldn’t share the same luck. Not worry, maybe we can return another time and check it out again.

Whilst there, my partner was also searching for vultures to photograph. The misty clouds didn’t really help, and although he was disappointed not to find many, he did in fact end up with a few epic photos. And I myself took my Hello Kitty plushie out of my bag and did a mini photoshoot with her posing in different places! The doodle here unfortunately doesn’t do much justice to her but we did have fun. After a few hours on the summit, we called it a day and proceeded to our descent. Back to the car and hit the road, when a herd of cows were spotted meandering the road side. Stopped to take photos from the window until two of the cows began approaching us! I think they liked our Toyota Supra. They did turn around though and off we continued our journey back. And what a day it was, beautiful views of the Pyrenees and running into some wild animals… now I’m definitely inspired and can’t wait to start painting about them!
