So back from our one-week sojourn to France since a week ago, and I am well inspired! All the beautiful violet shades of the lavender fields, and what wonderful weather we had! As we been so busy with work, we hadn’t even started unpacking our goodies we bought there. Planning to get around to it this weekend, but meanwhile, I managed to finish a kawaii digital painting on Procreate a few days ago and wanted to share it here. And of course it is about us enjoying the lovely lavender fields! We were so excited to be able to visit the fields when the lavender was in full bloom, as it is typically a hit and miss. This year the bloom was a bit later than usual with the mediocre spring we had. And here we are!

So much fun working with different texture brushes! The plants don’t really resemble lavender, but the focus is more on the colors and the happy mood. To create the foliage, I went for Jason’s Brushes available at Creative Market. There exists a number of “leafy” brushes with which I had so much fun playing around, layer after layer. Although I generally use Medium Airbrush, our outfits were painted in FT Crayon Brushes, and since I love introducing sparkles in my painting, I incorporated Glitter Pen and Dust from the Gold Rush brushes (also from Creative Market). Another brush I enjoy is the Light Pen which was used for the sunray. Digital Art gives us so many possibilities. And I love how this painting turned out, so happy, energetic and cute!
