Raining in Provence

Still enjoying our time here in Provence! Today we thought we’d take it easy and hang around the area a bit. Check out more lavender fields which by the way are getting more violet and purple everyday. So pretty! Wanting to avoid the crowds, we drove off to the remoter areas where the lavender is really growing wild. A few other plants on the side too such as red-orange poppies and bright yellow mimosas which added color contrasts to the lavender. Another stunning view and definitely on my painting bucket list! Then off to the shops to buy more lavender lotions and potions. Can’t get enough of the stuff and even ended up with a bundle lavender flowers! And of course my Hello Kitty plushy enjoyed her photoshoot amidst the colorful flowers! Weather today was a bit overcast but then again that’s not a bad thing for photography…

Speaking of photography, my partner also wanted to return to Gorges du Verdon to see if he can try his luck at finding vultures to photograph. Two days ago when we were there he was rather disappointed there were hardly any. By the time we drove up the cliffs, though,it started raining! A light rain but still no fun when it rains during our vacation, as we especially escaped the bad weather in the Netherlands. But things do happen for a reason. When we got to the gorges, all these vultures appeared! And now my partner started clicking away with so much enthusiasm and excitedly showed me all the epic shots in his camera viewfinder. Although I pretty much stayed in the car away from the rain, I was very happy for him. After that, dinner nearby followed by a panoramic drive back to the hotel as the rain subsided a bit…
