Gorges du Verdon

And a week or so after our Japan trip and having to face the bad weather in the Netherlands , we decided to escape to somewhere warm! A car drive to the south of France with our Toyota Supra would be quite a treat. And so on early Saturday morning we took off first dropping by Switzerland for a night. We safely arrived late afternoon Sunday at Moustiers St Marie, a quaint village in the Provence area with the lavender fields and amazing landscape. And yesterday morning we spent the day on a drive to and along Gorges du Verdon, a river canyon surrounding, as you guessed, River Verdon!

We were also there previously back in October 2021 and remembered how amazing the landscape was. My partner wanted to go back there and photograph with the hope of capture some vultures flying around. And I of course took my mini sketchbook along with me this time and doodled away. Unfortunately , the vultures were not many to be seen as it was quite busy in the roads especially with the noisy motorbikes, and besides they tend to appear during dusk and dawn. But what an stunning though scary sight it all was. So deep are the canyons from above that I didn’t get to do my usual photo shoots with my Hello Kitty plush in case she’d fall over! A good chance then to catch up on my travel sketches, and here I am sharing you my first one for this vacation…
