What’s Happening?

Good question. It all began with me practicing abstract painting with watercolors! Of course, one would not associate watercolor with abstract art but I find it an interesting combination, and thanks to Alena Hennessy’s “Watercolor Wonders” on-line classes, I am really getting into it! Still hanging onto the Beginnings unit until I get more confident and ready to promote to the next level. As I began experimenting with the brushstrokes and watercolor intensity, what and who is the first that comes to mind? LIttle One of course! But in blue? Well, it is supposed to be abstract so that’s a good start.

Eventually, I began playing around with the various bright colors and the variety of brushes I have with me. As you can see, I really need more practice! One of the things I really need to work on is getting the ripple and “tie dye” effect made possible by firstly applying lots of water on the paper with a large soft round brush and then dabbing the color. Once the paper was all filled up, I went about embellishing it with Uni Posca pens and gel pens before moving onto glitter glue and 3D acrylic liners. Not among my favorite work but I ldo ove the bright colors and also wanted to share here so you can see how I start progressing!
